Tea Party comments

I’ve been running through the list of comments in the taxday tea party and I am completely appalled with the number of completely disconnected individuals living in this country. Here are a few examples of what I’m talking about.

“I don’t think Oklahomans need to protest. I think the those opposed to this gov. already know we are ready to take back our country. Just let us know when your ready. The longer you wait the worse things get and the more time they have to gear up against us and the more bridges they burn. And red buttons and cds they hand out. How much do YOU want to pay? Who do you want spending your money?”

You notice the term “gear up?” That to me means he is wanting to arm himself against the government and that protesting is not the way..he is suggesting they need to take it by force. This goes right along with the post I made earlier about this tea party thing turning in to something fairly violent.

Ned, I take NOTHING for granted. I watch their voting records very close. If you did as much research as I did on the matter, you wouldn’t make the comment that “they’ve all got to go”.

It is the current President, his administration as well as members of congress such as Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the “usual suspects” that have absolutely no regard for the Constitution.

While I don’t agree with the bonuses given to Executives of banks we bailed out, it is the aforementioned members of Congress that further shredded the Constitution today by voting to tax these folks at AIG by 90%, that had contracts approved by this administration on February 11th 2009. A flagrant violation of the Constitution of these great United States.

If you are going to rant, at least know what you are talking about when you do so.

This is a complete fabrication of the truth drawn up by the wealthy people that have started this Tea Party. This is what the constitution states regarding where the money will go:

Section 9 – Limits on Congress

The Migration or Importation of such Persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit, shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the Year one thousand eight hundred and eight, but a tax or duty may be imposed on such Importation, not exceeding ten dollars for each Person.

The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.

(No capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in Proportion to the Census or Enumeration herein before directed to be taken.) (Section in parentheses clarified by the 16th Amendment.)

No Tax or Duty shall be laid on Articles exported from any State.

No Preference shall be given by any Regulation of Commerce or Revenue to the Ports of one State over those of another: nor shall Vessels bound to, or from, one State, be obliged to enter, clear, or pay Duties in another.

No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time.

No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.

Notice the portion of that in Bold. It says “…No money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but(except) in consequence of appropriations made by law…” This simply means that they cannot pull money out of the treasury without first voting on it, and if it is voted on it, they must provide receipts for all money taken out. This, actually was not done under Bush’s watch, but is being done under Obama’s. Bush gave out his Bail-out money to the financial sector, with absolutely no oversight and no way of tracking where and what the money was being used for. This means that Bush’s treasure Secretary actually violated the constitution, whereas Obama is not…..disagree with the money that is being given, to whom, and how much, but do not make false statements about something being unconstitutional.

And then here is The 16th ammendment:

Amendment 16 – Status of Income Tax Clarified. Ratified 2/3/1913. Note History

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

Amendment 17 – Senators Elected by Popular Vote. Ratified 4/8/1913. History

I don’t think I have to explain this, and here it is again in a little more detail….Article 1 section 8:

Section 8 – Powers of Congress

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;

To establish Post Offices and Post Roads;

To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;

To constitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court;

To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations;

To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

To provide and maintain a Navy;

To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings; And

To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

Like it or not..this is our constitution. You cannot say it is unconstitutional to tax a multi-billionaire at any % of his income above a certain amount. Also..you must realize that Obama isn’t raising taxes on the Uber-wealthy…he is simply rolling back the Bush Tax cuts, which shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

I will tell you this…given all the stuff I’ve said against the Tea Partier comments, thusfar…is that I do not agree with the way that Obama is doing things so far. He is not going far enough…he is basically doing what Bush did, but on a less conceited level. I didn’t agree with Bush when he signed off on giving bail-outs to the financial sector, and I do not agree with Obama doing it either. They should fall just like the rest of any poorly run business, then they should be investigated as to how long they knew that this was going to happen. They had to have known.

All that aside…I wanted to post this comment from the website as well. It comes from the mind of a completely un-intelligent individual that does listen to right wing talk radio waaay too much.

I do not have to follow Rush Limbaugh to know that Obama is the worst president that american have ever had. He surpasses Jimmy Carter. Obama is anti american and his every action of late has only confirmed this in my mind.

You are the idiot how needs to take your head out of the sand then stop look and listen. All of the people of america are not wrong. If you think that then just maybe you need to load up with Obama and leave our wonderful UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Obama is the worst president that america ever had, huh…all that in only 3 months? Wow…what did he do to deserve that title…was it the continuation of the bail outs brought on initially by the Bush administration? Could be…was it the rolling back of the Bush tax cuts? More likely, but do you think that individual is going to see an increase in his taxes? Doubtful…because that only pertains to people making over 250k/yr. and there’s not a whole lot of them around(respectively), and I seriously doubt that guy makes over 250k, just an observation but I am probably correct in my observation. And of course there is the ending Talking Point for any/all republicans when they feel their argument is invalid…..If you don’t like it then why don’t you just leave….ahh, yes…the masterfully thought out talking point..the most original comeback in the book. It takes much intelligence to throw this out in to an argument. Well..you see my point. I think the reason why this individual calls Obama the worst president in American history is because the man is Black, once again an observation, but I believe a very good one.

As I have said many many times before…I dislike Obama’s policies at this point. I think he is a good person but I don’t think he is doing all that needs to be done. I think he started off in the right direction but he is wanting too much bi-partisanship, but you can’t get anything done that way. The Dems have the majority and they need to use it just like the Republicans did when they had the majority. This is a complete and total embarassment for our party, given the fact that they will not vote with each other and instead bicker and argue amongst themselves. I do not wish them to become completely one-sided but I don’t think they should be completely down the middle, either.

I apologize for the length of the post but I had a lot to say on this matter and a lot of things to point out. There are many individuals that do not research enough things to know what the actual truth is. They get all their information by a small group of talk-show “entertainers.” They make their money by going ballistic and making stupid remarks. Remember that when you tune in and listen up.
